US Fascist? You decide….

You know… I feel like things are getting out of hand in the good ol’ USofA… I mean really. I have discovered the four most insulting and chilling words to come out of anyone who feels they are in a position of “authority” are “For your own safety…”. Laws like this are insane. This goes BEYOND big brother and enters the realm of thought control! Think about it… Everyone has done it… you get a spam email with a link in it… say it’s an email that looks like it’s from your bank. you click the link, even if you click it by mistake, and it takes you to some russian underground child porn bestiality site. guess what? yer goin ta jail boy! Don’t think so? Think about it for a minute. Whats to prevent the legal system from charging you, bankrupting you by dragging you through the legal system (not everone gets to have the right to a court appointed attorney.. remember the rights are “if you cannot afford an attorney” not “you have the right to an attorney paid for by the state”)… and having the whole thing dismissed because you proved it was a mistake. well guess what, yer still bankrupt. On the flipside… If you’re an enterprising young DA in a nice little backwater state/county… why not call your russian friend you met in that “little boys” chat room up and set up a nice little porno site then prosecute people who visit so you get your relection nailed on the whole “child porn” ticket….
Don’t get me wrong, I am NOT for child porn at all. I just think that altruism and trust in the “system” that it will not be abuses is just a very naive way of thinking. very very naive. and we are seeing more and more and more laws like this being presented and yes, even some of them will be passed. I, for one, find the past 10 years in US law very very disturbing. I would think that the “forefathers” feel the same way as well….
Don’t get me started on the second amendment and some recent comments about that…

“A bill introduced to the US House of Representatives would require ISPs to record all users’ surfing activity, IM conversations and email traffic indefinitely.
The bill, dubbed the Safety Act by sponsor Lamar Smith, a republican congressman from Texas, would impose fines and a prison term of one year on ISPs which failed to keep full records.
“A crime is still a crime, whether it occurs on the street or on the internet,” said Congressman Smith.
“In this age of increasing digital and technological sophistication, cyber-crimes and cyber-terrorism pose a serious threat to the US. Law enforcement and the private sector must be prepared to deal with these crimes.”
The bill includes a separate clause that would force the owners of sexually explicit websites to include warning labels on their web pages, or face jail.
Also included is a 20-year “jail tariff” for anyone ordering child pornography that crosses state borders, with a $150,000 fine for the ISP that allowed the transaction to take place.”
